Inaugural Cahir Motor Cycle Road Races 2013

Athea Motor Cycle Company Ltd. in conjunction with the Promoting Cahir Group, Kilcoran Lodge Hotel and Motorcycling Ireland bring you the first ever Cahir Motorcycling road races that will take place on a date in 2013 to be confirmed. This will be a new addition to the road racing calendar.

The circuit is just 6 miles outside Cahir, just off the old N8 Carriageway.  It is approx 10 km, 6km down around the village of Burncourt and up and around many corners where it joins the N8 carriageway.  This runs right alongside the new M8 motorway from Dublin to Cork.  The stretch of the N8 is approx 4 km which is a fine stretch of wide open road which will test the many riders over the inaugural road race weekend.  Further details of the 2013 event will be posted later.

"I have enjoyed the weekend a lot, and I will be back again next year.,"
"I was very surprised at just how fast the place is, and it was great to see so many people around the circuit. They really love their racing down here."
Michael Pearson

"I quite enjoy the Athea races, as there is no mucking about there as far as the organising goes "

"It was good to get the 125 race win, the wee bike was flying, but I seem to have no luck with the 250 at the moment"
Michael Dunlop

"The club also deserve praise for putting on a great meeting and they'd done a terrific job in making the circuit a lot safer. They looked after me all weekend so a big thanks to them and to all the team for their hard work and effort once more."
Keith Amor
