Top Band "Aslan" to play for Athea Road Races Fundraiser.

Athea Motorcycle Road Racing Club are busy at the moment preparing for their Annual Motorcycle Event which is due to take place on the weekend of the 26th and 27th of June. As usual the hard working club are putting together some great fundraising activities over the next few months. Top Band "Aslan" will perform a gig in the Tinteán Theatre, Ballybunion on Saturday 27th of March. This is this bands first time playing in this amazing Ballybunion Theatre. In March, April and May the club plan to run some poker runs in the local area, more information on these can be found on the Athea clubs website www.athearoadrace.com. This year is expected to attract top riders like Ryan Farquhar, Keith Amor, the famous Dunlop brothers William and Michael to take part in this fantastic road racing event, with huge crowds expected again this year at this very popular event. The club are now having regular meetings and are looking for people to come and join in the preparations. The club would be grateful for new members who want to take part in organising Athea 2010.There will be a training course in April to train Marshals for the event. The training will be done by a representative of The Motor Cycling Union of Ireland. Safety is always a prominent issue for the club and the safety of riders and public alike is always of great concern. The local community are looking forward eagerly again to welcoming the visitors and look forward to the event in June.
